Mark Heurung started his career with Northwestern Mutual in 1990 as an intern. With the support and guidance of mentor Gene Storms, Mark became a Financial Representative and then Field Director in the St. Cloud office. He was later promoted to Managing Director, providing stellar leadership in the St. Cloud and Edina offices. Mark was named Managing Partner in 2007, succeeding his mentor, Gene Storms. 

Mark and his wife, Sue, have two daughters, Emily and Heidi. They enjoy spending time at the lake and entertaining family and friends. In his free time, Mark pursues his hobby as an amateur wine collector.

Derek started his career with Northwestern Mutual in 2002 as a college intern. He was selected to be the Managing Director of the St. Cloud, MN office in 2007.  Derek led the St. Cloud office until 2011 and was soon appointed the District Director of Northwestern Mutual - Minneapolis in January 2012.

Derek is native to Albany, Minnesota and enjoys spending time with his friends and family. He likes to golf, hunt, fish, and spend time on the area lakes in the summer. Derek is married to Melinda and resides in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Scott comes to Minneapolis from Milwaukee where he spent the 14 years prior working in the home office of Northwestern Mutual.  He and his team support the financial and accounting functions of the office, districts and advisors.

 

Scott enjoys spending time with his friends and family.  His daughter is a college student in Boston and he resides with his wife in Shorewood, WI.

 

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM  and CFP®  (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board's initial and ongoing certification

Sarah started her career with Northwestern Mutual as a Financial Representative in 2003 after graduating from St. Cloud State University.  She later found her true passion in helping Financial Representatives build a successful business in financial services.  As the Chief Growth Officer, Sarah oversees the development and training programs for all Financial Representatives and Associates at Northwestern Mutual with locations in Minneapolis, Edina, Eden Prairie, Woodbury, St. Cloud and Duluth.  Sarah creates an environment of high expectations and accountability, helping  the Financial Representatives to be some of the highest in productivity in the entire company.

Sarah and her husband Brandon live in Plymouth with their twin daughters Aubrey and Brynn, and new baby Colby.  She is involved in the Minneapolis Women’s Rotary, and has mentored through Big Brothers Big Sisters.  She enjoys spending time at her family’s cabin in Alexandria and traveling.

In April of 2000, Craig Volk began his career with Northwestern Mutual.  Craig’s current position requires dual roles of Wealth Management Advisor and Director of Investment Services.  Craig’s practice focuses on an integrated planning approach primarily in investment management and wealth distribution.  He particularly enjoys helping younger representatives build their practice and learn by working on cases together.

In his 14 year tenure, Craig has learned that people need objectivity and strategic planning to make sure they position themselves in the most effective manner possible. To this day, he enjoys helping people become financially organized and create a vision for where they want to be, both personally and financially.

Craig currently resides in Lakeville, Minnesota, with his wife Nicole and children Reece, Macklin and Sutton.  As a family, they take an active role in a variety of sports and community events.  Craig coaches his son’s basketball team and in his spare time enjoys working out, playing basketball, and spending time with family and friends.
